Fiberfrax Ceramic Fiber Blankets
Fiberfraxฎ blankets are lightweight, thermally efficient ceramic fiber insulation with resistance to thermal shock. Made from spun Fiberfrax ceramic fibers that are needled for extra handling strength, these blankets are completely inorganic and available in a variety of temperature grades, densities and sizes.
Product Characteristics Superior handling strength Low thermal conductivity Low heat storage Light weight Thermal shock resistance Excellent thermal stability Excellent fire protection |
Typical Applications Heat treat furnace linings Investment casting mold wrapping Ceramic kiln insulation Boiler & furnace door linings and seals Co-gen & turbine insulation Expansion joint insulation Thermal gasketing Incineration, glass tank, pottery, raku, boiler, reformer linings
Fiberfrax Ceramic Fiber Papers |
Fiberfraxฎ ceramic fiber paper is manufactured by forming Fiberfrax fibers into a uniform, lightweight, flexible sheet or roll. We can die cut gaskets or slit into narrow width coils of all the below types. All the papers, except 972 and 882, have an organic binder that outgasses around 500ฐF.
Product Characteristics Low thermal conductivity High heat reflectance Good dielectric strength Ease of fabrication |
Typical Applications Thermal insulation High temperature gasket or parting agent Appliance, woodburning stove, heater gaskets Investment casting mold wrap Muffler and catalytic converter insulation Glass furnace and refractory back up insulation Heat treating parting agent Brazing separator
Fiberfrax Modules |
Our Modules are made from Fiberfrax blankets & can be secured by hardware or mortar. They are rated at 1800ฐF, 2300ฐF, 2600ฐF & 3000ฐF. Standard sizes are 12" x 6" or 12" x 12", but we are capable of supplying 12" x 24" or up to a 12" x 79" module. Thicknesses are available from 2" to 12". Please contact us for recommendations & prices.
Product Characteristics Faster heat up & cool down cycles Lower heat losses Reduced heat storage Thermal shock resistance Lower installation costs Easy repairs |
Typical Applications Ceramic & pottery kilns Heat treating furnaces Reheat, annealing & forge furnaces Boiler fire boxes
Fiberfrax Duraboard |
Fiberfrax Duraboards are manufactured in a wet forming process using binders & Fiberfrax ceramic fibers.
Typical Applications Hot face linings in ceramic kilns & heat treat furnaces Heat shields or thermal barriers Glass tank exterior wall insulation Molten metal trough linings & covers Expansion joints High temperature baffles Machined high temperature shapes |
Heating Elements |
The most common silicon carbide element used to 2800ฐF is the solid bar that's connected at both ends. We do have a spiral groove bar for higher temperatures (3000ฐF). Also available is a bayonet type where space limitations exist. Other specialty elements are available. Please contact us with dimensions (overall length, heating length & diameter) for a competitive quotation. We also have accessories such as braid, clamps, terminal straps & terminal tubes.
Typical Applications Sintered powder metal furnaces Ceramic kilns Heat treating furnaces Brazing furnaces Forging furnaces Annealing furnaces Glass tempering furnaces & lehrs Aluminum & other non-ferrous melting & holding furnaces Laboratory furnaces |
Crucibles |
We supply a variety of high quality crucibles to the molten metal industry. Crucibles are used in electric, gas, oil & induction furnaces. After reviewing the information below, please contact us for competitive pricing & availability.

FyreWrap Duct Insulation |
This passive fire protection wrap consists of a high temperature, biosoluble blanket insulation that is encapsulated. Lightweight & easy to use, FyreWrap prevents flame penetration & achieves a significant temperature drop in applications such as kitchen exhaust grease ducts, chemical fume ducts, HVAC ducts & air plenums. |
FiberFrax Coatings & Mixes |
These Fiberfraxฎ high temperature products consist of coating cements, rigidizer, moldables, pumpables, caulks, casting mixes & refractory mortar. Many of these products contain a wet, inorganic binder to provide both strength and hardness at elevated temperatures. |
Textiles |
Our textile product line consists of woven cloth, tape, sleeving or tubing, rope & braid. All are available in three temperature variations and are non-asbestos or asbestos free.
Fiberglass Textiles to 1000ฐF. Siltemp Silica Textiles to 1800ฐF. Fiberfrax Textiles for continued use to 2300ฐF.
Typical Applications Welding curtains for personnel protection Cable, pipe or steam tracing line wrapping Boiler, furnace or kiln door seal gasketing Kiln car seal in ceramic or brick kilns Stress relieving blankets Induction heating furnace coil insulation Exhaust hood curtains Furnace heat zone separators Expansion joint packings for aluminum & power plants, foundries & refineries |
Isofrax/Insulfrax Non-Refractory Fiber |
Isofraxฎ is a revolutionary new fiber that utilizes a unique, patented silica-magnesia chemistry to solve a variety of demanding, high-temperature application problems to 2300ฐF. It meets European regulatory requirements (Directive 97/69/EC) due to its enhanced biosolubility. Isofrax is available as an inorganic, needled insulating blanket in various densities, thicknesses & widths. Isofrax is also available in loose Bulk Fiber, Paper & Module forms.
Features Low thermal conductivity Required handling strength Excellent thermal stability Low heat storage Thermal shock resistance Flexibility Low weight Excellent corrosion resistance |
